1. I am a non-NATO related national working regularly in a NATO related country. Would I be allowed to participate in this NATO ARW?

2. I am a scientist/professional working in Australia/New Zealand. Would I be allowed to participate in this NATO ARW?

3. As a NATO related citizen working in a non-NATO related country am I eligible to apply?

4. I will need to receive an invitation to apply for my visa. Can you send me the letter of invitation?

5. Is there a template for abstracts/expressions of interest?

6. On the webpage I read that special transportation from/to Brindisi will be arranged. Could you please tell me roughly at what times these transportations will be, so that I can buy the airplane tickets?

7. I would like to do some sub-aqua dives. Is there anything available for diving in the area?



1. The regular place of work defines the country to be used. "Regularly" is interpreted here as being during a period of at least one year, of which at least six months should fall after the date of the meeting. Click here for a complete list of NATO related countries.

2. Australian/New Zealander scientists/professionals are considered as NATO "nationals" (Australia and New Zealand are NATO friend countries). As such, they may participate but their related costs cannot be paid from the NATO grant. However, we are applying for additional funding from other agencies and they might have fewer restrictions on the country of origin of participants.

4. For the invitation letter for the visa we would need the following details from you:

  • Name
  • Profession
  • Passport number
  • Passport type (diplomatic / service / ordinary)
  • Date of issue / expiry (if known)

5. There is no template for abstracts/expressions of interest. In addition to your contact details please include where your expertise lies, which of the workshop objectives you are mostly interested in and to which working group theme you would like to contribute.

6. We haven't arranged transportation from/to airport yet as this will depend on when people arrive/leave. In due time, we'll ask everyone when they arrive and plan transportation accordingly. As there are not many flights to Brindisi, we expect many people to arrive at around the same time.

  1. Turkey recognises the Republic of Macedonia with its constitutional name.

Participants from Austria, Finland, Ireland, Sweden or Switzerland - known as 'non-eligible' Partner countries - may participate, within the limit of 25% from any one country, but their related costs cannot be paid from the NATO grant.

NOTE: Australian and New Zealender scientists/professionals are considered as NATO "nationals" (Australia and New Zealand are NATO friend countries). As such, they may participate but their related costs cannot be paid from the NATO grant.
